America’s Best Nutrition Inc. is an international manufacturer of industry-leading nutritional supplements. We currently have an opening for Laboratory Manager/QA Associate. The key responsibilities for this role are to set up and perform chemical analytical testing for dietary supplements, raw dietary ingredients, finished products, and stability samples. This includes, but is not limited to ICP-MS, HPLC, HPTLC, FT-IR, Microbiology and physical analysis. The laboratory manager is to work under minimal supervision and function quite independently upon completion of training. They will also function as part of the quality unit, supporting the development, preparation, and maintenance of controlled documents pertaining to Master Manufacturing Records (MMR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), change forms, specifications, and QA documents.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
Develop and execute, with the support of management, a transition plan for third-party laboratory operations to shift to in-house laboratory operations.
Establish and maintain validated analytical testing protocols for all aspects of dietary supplement manufacturing.
Perform required chemical analytical testing for all samples submitted to the laboratory as indicated in dietary supplement and dietary ingredient specifications, or as requested, using official documented test methods.
Perform routine in-process checks during production to ensure conformance of products to defined specifications
Calibration/documentation of all instruments involved in testing
Maintains full traceability of analysis. Documents all testing and related activities by means of lab notebooks, reports, logbooks, etc.
Operates all related instrumentation and lab equipment, such as FTIR, lab hoods, balances, pipettes, glassware, etc.
Accurately interprets and reports test data as indicated in dietary supplement and dietary ingredient specifications.
Receipt of finished goods samples from production floor
Receipt of Raw Materials samples from QA sample technician
Physical testing of finished goods samples
Manage retention samples of finished goods
Handles and prepares reagents, solvents, and solutions. Maintain chemical inventory.
Keeps laboratory clean and organized.
Maintain organized and clean quality laboratory inventory and replenish supplies as needed
Management of raw materials samples
Maintains adequate pace of testing to deliver test results on schedule.
Act as a liaison between Quality and Production. Provide training support as needed
Maintain Quality Assurance controlled log and tracking books for document change control, certificates Maintains all documentation such as notebooks, equipment logs, etc., as specified.
Provide general oversight within production environment to support compliance to cGMPs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Provide support as needed during audits by regulatory and 3rd party certifying bodies
Minimum Qualifications (Requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position):
You must bring your own library and working knowledge of analytical testing for dietary supplement industry.
Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in a fundamental science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc.) or equivalent dietary supplement laboratory or quality assurance experience.
5 years lab experience operating required instruments/analytical tools.
Knowledge of cGMP, GLP and FDA regulations (CFR Title 21, 111).
Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
