Bilingual Mandarin-English Speaking Assistant Teacher

Ms. Lam Montessori is a Mandarin-Immersion Montessori School located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, serving children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years old and their parents. We are looking for full-time/part-time bilingual Mandarin-English Assistant Teachers.

Job Duties:

Daily setting up and cleaning of the classroom
Assisting the lead teacher during classroom hour, lunch, and nap
Prepare to lead storytime, singing, or other language work once a week
Prepare and restock teaching materials
Take ownership of the classroom and willing to step up when needed
Help the school become a better place to work by openly communicating with the Director, Lead Teacher, and other staff
Requirements:

The ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English
Excellent verbal communication skills
Experience with the bopomofo/Taiwanese alphabet system a plus but not necessary
Ability to multi-task effectively
Enjoys working with children
Committed and passionate about the job
Interested in growth and development as a teacher
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Compensation for the full-time position ranging from $38,000.00 to $45,000.00 per year commensurate to experience. Room and board nearby the school may be available to full-time qualified candidates. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided for all children and staff.
